Students develop basic hand tool and production skills to transform common building materials safely into useful products.

Cabinet Making 20 Inter (CONM20XX) 5 credits
In this intermediate Cabinet Making course, students will design and build their own project involving doors, drawers and frame & panel construction while further developing their design, milling and assembly skills. Students will also develop a deeper understanding for furniture finishing techniques. This course will enable students to take Cabinet Making 30, Wood Frame Construction 20 or Electrical and Plumbing Systems 20.

Cabinet Making 30 Adv (CONM30XX) 5 credits
In this advanced Cabinet Making course, students will design and building their own project involving a variety of furniture joinery techniques and tabletop surface options while further developing their design, milling and assembly skills. Students will also develop skills involved with tool maintenance and repair.
Prerequisite: Construction 10, Cabinet Making 20 or Wood Frame Construction 20
Wood Frame Construction 20 Inter (CON20XX) 10 credits
In the Wood Frame Construction 20 program, students will learn about the fundamental skills and building techniques used in residential house construction. Students will learn by framing a real house on site, which involves constructing floor, wall, stair and roofing systems. This course is offered at the Jack James Campus.

Wood Frame Construction 30 Adv (CON30XX) 10 credits
Building on the fundamental knowledge and skills learned in Wood Frame Construction 20, students in Wood Frame Construction 30 program will learn advanced, trade-level skills, knowledge and building techniques that are used in residential house construction. Students will not only be able to participate in framing a real house on site, but will also gain valuable knowledge in other trade areas such as drywalling, painting, flooring, and finishing carpentry. This course is offered at the Jack James Campus.
