Agriculture/Horticulture 10 (AGRH10XX) 5-10 credits
In the Agriculture / Horticulture 10 program offered at both CTS and K&E level, students learn about botany the parts and functions of plants, plant care from seeds or propagated cuttings to harvest, managing plant growth, greenhouse operation, gardening, landscaping, teamwork, careers, as well as other agriculture related concepts. Students learn some basic flower arranging skills creating new seasonal arrangements, as well as designing and building planter boxes.

Agriculture / Horticulture 20 (AGRH20X) 10 credits
In the Agriculture / Horticulture 20 program offered at both CTS and K&E level, students will apply knowledge learned in previous modules to the growing and maintenance of a greenhouse crop. Students will identify and describe plants that are grown in Alberta climates, growth requirements, managing pests and identifying common problems that arise in greenhouse crops. Advanced floral and landscape design install and maintenance, specialty greenhouse crops, agriculture field crops and the careers available to those interested in this area will also be covered.

Agriculture / Horticulture 30 (AGRH30XX) 10 credits
In the Agriculture / Horticulture Construction 30 program offered at both CTS and K&E level, students will continue to apply the knowledge learned in previous modules. They will extend their techniques in developing field crops by looking deeper at biogenetics and technology available. Plant identification, maintenance, floral design for specific occasions and marketing techniques will also be covered. Throughout the course, students will be also exposed to careers that encompass the Horticulture field. This course is offered at the Jack James Campus.

Outdoor Pursuits
Outdoor Pursuits Intro (WLDO10XX) 5 - 1 credit modules
Outdoor Pursuits 10 (Intro) five 1 credit courses Outdoor Pursuits 10 fosters an understanding and appreciation of the environment around us. Students will be exposed to opportunities and experiences to create a lifelong love of outdoor recreation while possessing the knowledge and skills required to safely participate in the outdoors. Students will also examine how to be outdoor enthusiasts while developing an understanding of how to protect our environment. Students will be expected to take part in two mandatory days and one overnight off-campus trip to enhance learning and to complete some modules. The course fee does not include the cost of field trips. Depending on travel locations, field trip fees will be assessed at the time of the course.

Outdoor Pursuits Inter (WLDO20XX) 5 - 1 credit modules
Outdoor Pursuits classes foster an understanding and appreciation of the environment around us. Students will be exposed to opportunities and experiences to create a life-long love of outdoor recreation while possessing the knowledge and skills required to safely participate in the outdoors. Students will also examine how to be outdoor enthusiasts while developing an understanding of how to protect our environment. In order to build on skills learned in Outdoor Pursuits 10, there will be mandatory single day and multi-day off-campus trips to enhance learning that students will be expected to participate in. Students are expected to stay on top of their studies in their other classes to participate in these trips, as they are required to complete outcomes in certain modules. The course fee does not include the cost of field trips. Depending on travel locations, field trip fees will be assessed at the time of the course.

Outdoor Pursuits Adv (WLDO30XX) 6 credits
Outdoor Pursuits fosters an understanding of the environment around us. Students will be exposed to opportunities and experiences to create a life-long love of outdoor recreation while possessing the knowledge and skills required to safely participate in the outdoors. Outdoor Pursuits Adv builds on the knowledge built in Outdoor Pursuits Intro and Inter; requiring students to take a leadership role in the planning process of a mandatory overnight trip, as well as attending several other shorter field trips. Students are expected to maintain a high level of academic standing in their other classes in order to attend these trips. The course fee of Outdoor Pursuits Adv includes the cost of most field trips but not equipment. Depending on travel locations, field trip fees will be assessed at the time of the course.
