No dance experience is required for Dance 15 - beginners are welcome! The dance program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to discover various forms of dance and to develop an appreciation for dance as an ongoing life experience.

Since dance is developmental, all areas of study will be included in each grade; however, the level of knowledge, skill, and attitude expected are greater in each area for each consecutive year.

Ballet 15 (LDC1412) 5 credits
Students will work on developing introductory ballet technique. Throughout the semester students will work on building a full-length contemporary ballet.
Prerequisite: Dance 15
Ballet 25 (LDC2412) 5 credits
In this course students will work on intermediate ballet technique. Throughout the semester students will work on building a full-length contemporary ballet to present at the end of the semester.
Prerequisite: Ballet 15
Ballet 35 (LDC3412) 5 credits
In this course students will work on advanced ballet technique. Throughout the semester students will work on building a full-length contemporary ballet to present at the end of the semester.

Contemporary Dance 25 (LDC2467) 5 credits
Prerequisite: Dance 15
Contemporary Dance 35 (LDC3467) 5 credits
In this course students will study more advanced contemporary and modern dance techniques through warmups center work, choreography and dance history. Students will also work towards creating a full-length contemporary ballet to present at the end of the semester.
Prerequisite: Contemporary Dance 25

A high school dance program for students who are passionate about dance. We offer high level training in Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet. We have many performance opportunities including dance competitions, school shows and festivals. We work with dance companies such as illFX Education and East Side Dance Festival.
As a member of the Intensive Dance Development Program, you would take the following classes:
· Grade Ten: Dance 15, Ballet 15/Contemporary 25, Dance Performance 15
· Grade Eleven: Dance 25, Ballet 25/Contemporary 35, Dance Performance 25, Calm outside of the timetable (online)
· Grade Twelve: Dance 35, Ballet 35, Dance Performance 35, Leadership Development in the Arts 35 outside of the timetable (online)
